Proof of Nationality (Prova de Nacionalidade

The Proof of Nationality is an official document certifying Angolan nationality.


Requirements
  • The presence of the applicant is mandatory.

  • The form must be completed in black ink, in block letters, without errors or erasures.

  • The signature on the form and related documents must be done in the presence of the consular officer.

  • Original documents must be presented, accompanied by one photocopy of each.


Documents Required
  1. Proof of Nationality Application Form, available at the Consular Section.

  2. Valid Consular Registration Card.

  3. One Angolan identification document, either:

    • Valid National Identity Card (Bilhete de Identidade), or

    • Valid Passport (pages 1, 2, and 32).


For Citizens Who Acquired Nationality by Naturalization or Marriage
  1. Valid Consular Registration Card.

  2. One Angolan identification document, either:

    • Valid National Identity Card, or

    • Valid Passport (pages 1, 2, and 32).

  3. Full Copy of Birth Certificate, issued in Angola, endorsed by the Integrated Services of the National Directorate of Identification, Registration and Notary of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).

  4. Full Copy of Nationality Certificate, issued and authenticated as above, and a copy of the Official Gazette (Diário da República) indicating the granting of Angolan nationality.


Additional Information
  • Missing documents may result in rejection of the application.

  • The Consular Section reserves the right to request additional documentation or invite the applicant for an interview.

  • All documents in foreign languages must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country.

  • Submitted documents remain the property of the Embassy of Angola.

  • 2 working days: 150 NOK

  • 24 hours (urgent): 300 NOK

Proof of Life Declaration (Declaração de Prova de Vida)

The Proof of Life Declaration confirms that an Angolan citizen is alive and is typically required for pension or social security purposes.


Requirements
  • The presence of the applicant is mandatory.

  • The form must be completed in black ink, in block letters, without errors or erasures.

  • The signature on the form and letters must be made in the presence of the consular officer.

  • Original documents must be presented, accompanied by two photocopies of each.


Documents Required
  1. Proof of Life Application Form, available at the Consular Section.

  2. Valid Consular Registration Card (optional for non-residents).

  3. One identification document, either:

    • Valid National Identity Card (Bilhete de Identidade), or

    • Valid Passport (pages 1, 2, and last page).

  4. Photocopy of Pensioner’s Card or Social Security Card.


For Proof of Survival (in case of death verification)

Please present:

  • Full Copy of Death Certificate (Assento or Boletim de Óbito).

  • Photocopy of the deceased’s identification document.

  • Missing documents may result in rejection of the application.

  • The Consular Section reserves the right to request additional documentation or summon the applicant for an interview.

  • All foreign documents must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country.

  • Submitted documents remain the property of the Embassy of Angola.
